Nadine had the pleasure of working with the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show 2024 as the Sustainable Floristry Consultant & Educator - introducing sustainability to the competition criteria for the very first time in the show’s history.

As well as taking on the role as Lead Judge for 60+ designs within this new Environmental Impact section, she led a team of her Greenhouse members to create 2 large interactive Installations. An abundant Bush Swing in the Urban Forest & The Ivy Institute’s ‘Tunnel of Nature Love’ - an engaging and immersive floral experience, showcasing all that’s possible with sustainable techniques & a zero waste commitment while engaging over 100,000 people over 5 days.

The Tunnel of Nature Love

A tunnel wrapped in flowers

Vision

“Welcome to the Tunnel of Nature Love, where we celebrate the captivating beauty of nature's cycles. Inviting you to wander slowly and immerse your senses in our homage to life from soil to bloom and back again.

Our vision embraces zero waste, using seasonal, locally grown and foraged botanicals, and collaborating with like-minded businesses. Each element is chosen intentionally, either returning to the earth or finding new purpose through repurposing & recycling.

Experience new beginnings, bursts of blooms, majestic foliages, and ethereal dried botanicals, showcasing sustainability in floral design without harmful plastics or foam.”

As an educational piece, our display encouraged innovation and responsible creation.

'“Enjoy your stroll through our Tunnel of Nature Love, and feel the connection as you see yourself reflected in nature's beauty—a reminder of your place within its harmonious & healing rhythm.”

ETHICS OVER CONVENIENCE

I’m Nadine

After 30-plus years in this beautiful industry, I am more passionate than ever.

As a proud Sustainable Floristry Advocate, earth-conscious design & sustainable practices weave through all that I do.

Sustainable thinking supports a healthy future - for people, businesses and our natural environment. For a nature-loving industry that relies on a healthy planet, don't you agree we should be leading the way?

From within my Ivy entangled Greenhouse in the highlands NSW I love connecting with each of my students, members and mentees, either online or in person, to support them along their entrepreneurial floral pathway to a successful, thriving and aligned floral business.
